About the trust and activities( in brief)

Shri Kshetra Ulavi ,is a sacred place for Lingayath/Veerashaiva community, situated in Karwar Dist. Of Karnataka State .. The trust was basically formed as per the then legal law in 1932 under the leadership of Shri Raosaheb Adiveppa  Channappa Kittur Of  Halyal . Now it is a registered committee. The trust members always remember our founder Chairman,who was instrumental in protecting this Sharana Kshetra and his successor Shri C.A.Kittur  and our present  Chairman  Shri G.C.Kittur.

Every year In the month of February Annual Chariot Festival is being held amidst lakhs of devotees coming across the country. During this annual festival which will be of  2 weeks various cultural ,folks , Sharana Vachana ,bhajans  programmes are held, apart from wrestling competitions and other events.
 
In Order to provide all the basic amenities to the devotees, who come to this Kshetra from all over India,The trust has taken up several projects and have come up with many of them with the help of the donors, devotees, whom we always have to thank for their kind and helpful support.

Dasoha ( Free Meals) : In the year 1976 the trust took the milestone  concept of providing free meals ( Dasoha ) ,the very concept of Sharanas according to Lingayath cult. The Project was Inuaguarated by Shri MannaNiranjan PranavaSwarupi Shri Mahantappagalu Mahaswamiji ,Pontiff of Shri  Murughamath, Dharwad. Today, Everyday about  1000 devotees are facilitated through this Dasoha .

The Renovation of the Samadhi Of  Lord Channabasaveshwar Started in the year 1976 and completed  in 1979 along with a beautiful Gopuram depiciting of  23 Sharanas .

The Deepasthamba was replaced, with Dharmasthamba which comprises the Lingayath’s Shatasthala, Panchachara, Ashtavarana Sutras, in 1980.

Accordingly the Work of Building the Mahadwara was undertaken  along with providing about 4 rooms for Archakas . In the Year 1983 with the help of devotees 8 Rooms were constructed in order to facilitate the then requirement.

Education : In Order to provide education to the poor and downtrodden ,The trust started Shri Channabasaveshwar  high school in the year 1982-83,wherein free hostel and food is provided to all the students. Channabasaveshwar Eduacation trust comprises of 13 members  & 10 staff members.

Shivanubhava : In accordance with Anubhav Mantap of Kalyan, The Sharanas place.A Similar Shivanubhav Mantap is built to hold Shivanubhava programmes

Kalyan Mantap : This is again a mile stone achievement, built with intention to provide space for marriages which accommodate around 2000 people, this project came out  with the help of Shri B.S.Channabasappa & Sons of Davanagere ,M.K.Sugar Factory members  and many other Donors.

About Caves:  There are Numerous caves around Ulavi where it is believed that The Sharanas led by Lord Channabasavanna stayed during their Yatra to Ulavi in order to safeguard the Sharana Sahitya (Sharana Literature) . To Name a few like AkalGavi, Mahamane Cave , Akkanagamma Cave, Rudraksha Mantap, Panchalingeshwar Cave are some of the places where  Great sharanas stayed. The trust will arrange a guide if a visitor wants to visit these places on intimation.
